Israel Mesen Rubi
Israel Mesen Rubi is a naturalist tour guide.

Growing up in a small town surrounded by tropical rain forest, Israel became very interested in biodiversity and conservation. Starting at 18, he was assisting students and professors who were conducting research in Costa Rica.
He received his Naturalist Guide certification from INBio in 2003, his English degree from Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano in 2009, his General Tourism degree from INA in 2010, he is currently studying Business Management at University of Costa Rica.
Israel’s principle interests are rain forest conservation and environmental education. More specifically, Israel believes that long term rain forest conservation projects deeply depend on developing research projects that helps us better understand the habitat we are trying to protect, then passing on this knowledge throughout environmental education to residents, giving them the information to better manage their own properties in order to obtain financial benefits in a sustainable way.
As such, he is committed to support researcher and student groups by helping organize logistics at reliable sites as well as developing educational programs that give residents skills to manage their natural resources sustainably.
Israel is the co-founder of Tree Field Studies, runs his own Eco-tourism company (Tayra Educational Expeditions), funded a Costarrican Non-profit organization (Fundacion Semillas para el Futuro) and forms part of conservation non-profit (The Monkey Bridge Project INC.)
